It might seem crazy to think that you can improve your tennis game without ever stepping on the court, but you might be surprised how many things you can do! Here are some of the ideas we had:

Fuel your body.
Taking care of your body every day, even the days you aren’t going to be playing, is so important for not only tennis, but your overall health. This means eating healthy and drinking the right amount of water. In need of inspiration? Check out some of our Smoothie Saturday posts. Don’t worry, it doesn’t have to be Saturday for you to enjoy a smoothie.

Try some yoga.
Yoga is perfect for tennis players. It keeps you flexible, strong, balanced, and can even help prevent injuries. You can read more and check out some poses in our Yoga for Tennis blog post.

Use visualization.
We recently had a blog post highlighting all of the positive benefits of using visualization. Try visualizing your serve with power and accuracy in as much detail as possible. Then repeat the process. Visualization can help with motivation and possibly even anxiety.

Stock your tennis bag.
Preparation is key! So, be sure to pack your tennis bag with any essentials ahead of time with water, snacks, hair ties, and your favorite 30Fifteen outfit. You’ll be ready for anything.

Get plenty of sleep.
Most people need 8-10 hours of sleep a night. We know that’s not always possible with how busy life can get, but if you’re getting enough sleep, particularly the night before playing, your body will thank you. Also, tennis is a very mental game, so it can’t hurt to have a clear, well rested mind, too.

Couple these suggestions with practice, practice, practice, and your tennis game is sure to improve! What do you do to better your tennis game? Let us know in the comments.
