3 WAYS TO DESTRESS BEFORE & DURING THE HOLIDAYS

As if life isn’t crazy enough, then come along the holidays, and your social calendar and to do list goes up several notches! With that usually comes some stress!  Let’s not allow that to happen this year. Here’s three ways you can destress before and during the holidays.

Exercise

Adding another thing into the calendar might feel like a crazy thing to do but we’re not suggesting you go take a 90 minute Vinyasa class (unless you have time to do that – if you do- go do that)! If you’re like the rest of us though, just do what you can, 10 minutes on your yoga mat, a 15 minute HIIT, 30 minute cardio, a dance class. Whatever you can get in do it, because you do have time! And, what’s best is – you’ll be surprised how much more energy you’ll have afterwards, making your to -do list feel more manageable.

Get Organized

Number one thing that causes us more stress is not being prepared. Start by making a list of everything you need to accomplish, and make sure all the social events you and your family have coming up are marked on the calendar, so you know what’s coming up. That way the last minute ‘panic’ feeling won’t show up.  Just like exercise, you might feel like you don’t have time to get organized but believe us, you do. It is really easy to forget things if you just rely on your memory, make life easier for yourself and start getting organized.

Laugh

Remember to have some fun! The holidays can be one of the most magical times of the year. Seeing people, you haven’t seen most of the year, and celebrating just being together is really quite magical! Try and enjoy it! It can be easy to get wrapped up in expectations, and then feel disappointed for what it turns out to be, instead, just laugh, smile, have FUN with those people you love. It’ll be January before you know it and well, we all know what those January blues can feel like.
