3 THINGS YOU CAN DO WHEN YOU FEEL UNMOTIVATED

It can come on for no reason whatsoever but suddenly you feel unmotivated for absolutely everything. Even your responsibilities seem pointless. If you’ve been feeling this for a long time, you might need to talk to your doctor but if you’ve just started feeling like this. It could be because of the weather, the fact that January is still not over, or that you’re just going through a strange cycle in your life. First step is noticing that it isn’t your usual personality and that you are just feeling unmotivated.

Here’s some things you can do to kick start your motivation and just feel, a whole lot better.

 Make a to-do list

Sometimes, we can have so much on our plate, it causes us to feel overwhelmed, and then in turn just totally unmotivated to get anything done. Writing out a list of everything you need to get done in the day will help you see all your tasks clearly and focus on one at a time, and get more accomplished. When you tend to not get things done – you can get down on yourself, and feel miserable and unmotivated. Try not to bite off more than you can chew, break things down and accomplish more.

Get Off Social Media

Social media is quite possibly the biggest mood deflating, not to mention time wasting activity you can do to yourself. Especially if you’re already feeling low. Real life is way more interesting that people’s updates and talking on the phone to people to find out what they’ve been up to is far more interesting and engaging than following along with their heavily curated pages, and feeds. Take some time off social media while you’re feeling little low and unmotivated, get back to focusing on the world around you, not the imaginary one people share. It will help you feel more connected to yourself and remind you of your goals, your interests, and it’ll clear your mind into reminding how you can filter those enjoyable things back into your life.

Move Your Body

Stop for a moment and examine yourself. Did you exercise today? Did you get out of the house? If you’re a work from home bunny, or spend a lot of time at home during your days off, it can start to play havoc on your mental wellness. Start structuring in a daily workout, even if it’s just 15 minutes, and structure in leaving the house at least once a day. If you work long hours from home during the day, make sure at the end of the day or even at the beginning you go somewhere, walk to the park or a local coffee shop, go to the gym, get your nails done, or book in a massage. Do something for yourself that has you engage with people on a face to face level and snaps your mindset off your inner dialog. Stepping out and moving your body allows your blood to flow around your body (great for your health) but also for your mind! If you keep your body strong, your mind will follow
